Blériot V
The Blériot V was an early French aircraft built by Louis Blériot. A canard design, it was one of the first monoplanes,[1] albeit an unsuccessful one.[2] Built in January 1907, Blériot first attempted to fly it at Bagatelle in March, but met with no success until he enlarged the flying surfaces. On April 5, the machine made its first short hop, and over the next few days, Blériot extended these to about 5 metres (16½ feet). On April 19, it crashed and was damaged beyond repair.[3] A different source says it achieved 150 m flight in September 1907.[4]
